Socially responsible investing

According to the Social Investment Forum, socially responsible investing (SRI) is an investment process that considers the social and environmental consequences of investments, both positive and negative, within the context of rigorous financial analysis. In other words, while the priority of most investors is to make money, they also want the companies in which they invest to be sensitive to human rights, environment, product safety and impact, international operations, and community relations issues and to do this without sacrificing performance.
