The Alternative Energy Industry

A Green Energy Report Card

By Nick Hodge
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

The alternative energy industry has surged onto the scene over the past few years, growing from a tiny market segment to a ubiquitous industry.

Once on the sidelines, cleantech is now a marketing and social magnet. Companies and factories are going green. So are homes and individuals. Cars are now eco-friendly.

The use of renewable energy is not only doubling and tripling, it's being forced to grow by the government. Well over half the states have laws that mandate the use of renewable energy must expand several times over. A bill currently circling Congress would do the same for the entire country, as well as put a cap on carbon emissions.

Of course, the adoption of the smart grid and energy efficiency is marching right in step.

And I'm not just talking about the U.S. I'm talking about the entire world. Even countries you've never heard of have renewable energy targets.

With so much happening so quickly, I figured it was time to offer a green report card of sorts.  And as a Green Chip Review member, you can access this report - absolutely free - right here: http://www.greenchipstocks.com/report/alternative-energy-a-2009-report-card/449.

Call it like you see it,

Editor's Note: From solar and wind to geothermal and biofuels, Green Chip readers want to know which renewable energy resource will take over where fossil fuels leave off. The answer is...all of the above!

There is no one single solution to today's energy crisis. However, the combination of all viable renewable energy resources, coupled with energy efficiency, conservation and smart grid development will not only lead us to energy independence and a cleaner, more sustainable energy infrastructure — but also to what will soon prove to be the greatest investment opportunity of the 21st Century.

I do not do this very often but I want to tell you I have been in the Renewable Energy Business for over 40 years. Your artical about the growth is on target. 40 years ago if some one asked me what I did for a living I would tell them I am a developer of products. The truth be know I have been in the solar industry since 1968. Off grid applications were the only way I could have made a living back then. Now I own a Research and Development company and I have released over 45 product in the last 15 years. There are claims that the USA imports 700 billion dollar a year of oil. I know this is a wholesale price. The truth being we are paying over 1.4 trillion for that oil. Oil is not the problem that I see. It is the feeding of the grid that is the problem. Off grid is a much better solution. I will stick to my guns over this issue. How would you like no electric bill for the rest of your life? Think about it! Great Article and a great way to promote a green future.

McKirdy is a liar and a fraud who posts on the net with claims of expertise. He is a scammer who will say anything. He isn't who he claims to be. Watch out.
