Nuclear power is superior to the fossil fuels in the eyes of an environmentalist. Globally, nuclear power has 0 carbon emissions! Excess carbon in the air leads to severe climate change. Currently the terrible fuels emit insane amounts of carbon: 3340 million tons of Carbon dioxide from coal per year, 8.824kg of Carbon dioxide per US gallon of petrol oil, 10.493kg of Carbon dioxide per US gallon of diesel oil, 317kg of Carbon dioxide per barrel and 120.593 pounds of Carbon dioxide per 1000 cubic feet of natural gas. Nuclear power's clean energy system is best for the health of both the nation and the environment.
This extremely industrialized nation's health is not the only thing to worry about; energy efficiency is also extremely important. Nuclear power's superiority continues to shine in respects to efficiency. Nuclear power puts out almost 4 times as much energy than the fossil fuels with just a small amount of Uranium compared to the large amounts of fossil fuel. Nuclear power is the most efficient and effective source of energy. People can measure efficiency and effectiveness in many ways. Another way that nuclear shows its efficiency and effectiveness is through cost. Nuclear power requires Uranium ore, which is extremely easy and cheap to harvest. Fossil fuel sources are difficult to harvest. They are not renewable and cost a great deal of money. Uranium ore is natural and practically every where around the earth. Oil, coal and natural gas are all natural too; however, they diminish too quickly. This sad fact results in excess importing of fossil fuels, which harshly raises the prices of these fuels. The United States imports 11.8 million barrels of oil per day. The cost of frequently importing is very high. Nuclear power's dependence on Uranium ore makes nuclear power the most superior and cost effective energy source.
Solar Power is also extremely cost effect. Solar power comes from the sun and unlike fossil fuels, solar power is free! Solar power does more for the nation than fossil fuels. Rather than importing ridiculous amounts of fossil fuels, Our powerful nation can create photovoltaic cells to harvest the suns energy. Increasing the use of solar power in the USA will increase our nation's energy independence, stimulate the economy by creating new jobs as well as reduce the cost of nation wide energy. Photovoltaic cells are extremely beneficial to the health of American citizens. Photovoltaic cells sit on roof tops and do not emit insane amounts of carbon and other green house gases into the air. America's air quality can exponentially improve with the use of both active and passive solar energy. Solar power is really clean.
Another amazing, clean and renewable energy source is wind energy! Wind energy is growing. Harvesting the wind should have been a priority for a very long time. Anything from a gentle breeze to a pretty powerful gust of wind can truly power a nation. The fact that these giant windmills can spin and produce energy for a nation is phenomenal. If America were to focus on wind energy more, more jobs would be available and reliance on fossil fuels will diminish. Wind energy is superior to fossil fuels because wind comes from the Earth and is harmless.
Another harmless source of energy is geothermal energy. Geothermal energy harvests the energy from the earth's core and hot springs. Geothermal energy is cost effect in the long run. After expensive installation, geothermal energy runs on pretty inexpensive fans. These systems produce solid amounts of energy and cost little to nothing. Using the Earth's natural resources is more beneficial to everyone than using fossil fuels.
Earth's natural resources can be anything. Bio-fuels focus on using everything to produce energy. The science and concepts behind bio-fuels are amazing. Bio-fuels harvest the power from things that contain cellulose, like the cob of corn or algae. The cellulose produces really cheap and powerful amounts of energy. Bio-fuels make it possible to use food scraps and the majority of what else ends up in lands fills as a primary energy source. If America were to use bio-fuels more, the amount of space needed for land fills and ocean fills would significantly reduce. Bio-fuels are a lot more beneficial than fossil fuels.
Clearly renewable energy is worth the investment. Renewable energy is cheap, efficient and more importantly clean! Investing into renewable energy will make it possible to create new jobs and live healthier lives. Unlike fossil fuels, nuclear energy emits 0 carbon, produces a lot energy, saves its consumers' money. There are too many facts supporting Nuclear power's superiority. If I were in charge of America's energy source I would use Nuclear power.
