Gasoline and Electric Hybrids to be the Focus of Fuel Efficiency Plan

We all knew the auto idustry would go electric... but at least now we have a time frame.

Last week, the Transportation Department and the Environmental Protection Agency proposed fuel efficiency gains ranging from 3% to 6% annually from 2017 to 2025.  That would lead to a 47-62 mpg requirement range.

Keeping this is mind, the auto industry is going to do the best it can to avoid any increase in cost or negative effects on product design or production schedule.

In other words, more fuel-efficient cars will be available to the public at a reasonable price. Finally - just what the public has been waiting for.

In terms of our good friend oil, the top standard of 62 mpg would save 45 billion gallons of oil and reduce carbon pollution 450 million tons by 2030.
